Aluminum hydroxide is an inorganic substance. The chemical formula Al(OH)3 is the hydroxide of aluminum. Aluminum hydroxide can react with acid to form salt and water, and can react with strong alkali to form salt and water. Therefore, it is an amphoteric hydroxide. Because it is also acidic, it can also be called aluminic acid (H3AlO3). However, tetrahydroxyaluminate ([Al(OH)4]-) is actually generated when reacting with alkali. Therefore, it is usually regarded as metaaluminic acid monohydrate (HAlO2·H2O), which can be divided into industrial grade and pharmaceutical grade according to its use.
As a new inorganic flame retardant, it has the characteristics of halogen-free, low-smoke, non-toxic, anti-drip and filling. It is mainly used for rubber, plastics, paints, adhesives and other polymer materials to eliminate smoke and flame retardant. It can also be used as filling materials in building boards, artificial marble, paper and other products.
Applications
-Used for glass, Water treatment industries,Zeolite
-Used as filler for Artificial Marble (DuPont Stone) and artificial agate
-Used as flame retardant filler for Rubber and Plastic
-Used as filling agent for Toothpaste, Carpet Fillers, Papermaking Fillers, Catalyst, etc
